The FAS Mens Club
The Men's Club of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue, over the years has invited speakers from all sorts of facets of society, both secular and religious.The club President Derek Enlander M.D. and the Committee, Oskar Weg M.D.and Andrew Feinman welcome suggestions for speakers and events. Your participation and sponsorship are encouraged.
Previous Club presidents have included Jerry Turk, Ezra Merkin, Steven Perelman, and Daniel Stein.
Over the past few years we organized the visits of interesting personalities including, Michael Steinhardt, Prof. Louis Henkin,Columbia University, Rabbi Arnold Resnicoff, the Senior Chaplain to the American Armed Forces in Vietnam, Norman Mailer, Alan Dershowitz, Daniel Goldhagen, Jeff Goldberg, a staff writer of the New Yorker, Gary Rosenblatt, the editor of Jewish Week and Mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
We have also sponsored events such as wine tasting, sports outings and we have coordinated other programs with our Women's club.
